THIS WOULD HELP IN SETTLEMENT OF THE LABORER GOING TO HIS FAMILY AND NOT BE LEFT IN THE COUNTRY OF WORK AS DOCUMENTATION IS NOT COMPLETE. THESE POOR FAMILIES DO NOT HAVE MEANS TO CHASE THE FINAL SETTLEMENTS.

In olden times people used to visit places during vacation to look at its history, take the feel of the place, eat the local food at the restaurant and generally amble around to really get the full value of the visit and vacation.  There probably used to be one or two photographs in front of an iconic building like Eiffel tower, London tower or a Buckingham palace.

Nowadays, the travel bug is more of a selfie bug. That as soon as you land, tourists take selfies and post it in the Social Media to inform you have arrived at that place. Photos of every moment is taken - be it food (rather than enjoying the taste and flavor of the place) or dangerously hanging on to a monument with no respect for the monuments history. These new, what I call as Ephemeral Selfie tourist is more interested in flooding the Social Media of their friends and public with photos than really having a nice vacation.

Today's tourist visit places for 2-3 days purely for selfies and mobile photos than relaxing at a place. While the airlines also like to promote these short trips as it makes them keep their aircraft flying more, the hotels also see a higher turnover and the shopkeepers can sell more souvenirs to more such fleeting customers.

The lazy, languorous, visit of olden times vacation is long gone in this new era of quick trips.
